Design of Spoke-Type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator for Low Capacity Wind Turbine Considering Magnetization and Cogging Torques

Permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) with high output density per unit volume are becoming widespread in wind-power generation systems. Among them, spoke-type PMSGs more challenging to magnetize than other PMSGs, owing their structural characteristics. Magnetization performance is critical because it directly related the demagnetization and mass productivity of permanent magnets, load reduced when non-magnetization occurs due low magnetization performance. Additionally, starting crucial wind turbines influenced by cogging torque PMSG. This a turbine large challenging. Therefore, this study proposes PMSG rotor shape design for capacity that considers torques. We analyzed principle factors influencing performance, designed improved we applied an asymmetric barrier structure reduce analyze final model using finite element analysis. temperature saturation during operation thermal network method validated irreversible accordingly.
